Hard Rock Bristol’s Casino prepares for July 8 opening

In just a few short days, the state of Virginia will welcome its very first casino. The temporary structure, “Bristol Casino – Future Home of Hard Rock” is set to open on July 8, offering a quality gaming space until the permanent venue is ready at the former Bristol Mall. The project will cost $300 million to complete and includes two hotel towers, a large casino space within two stories, dining, and more.

Details of the Casino

To provide gaming sooner rather than later, Hard Rock International is opening a temporary space for guests until the permanent structure is completed.

The interim casino will be 30,000 square feet in size and offer around 900 slot games. Players will have 20 table games to play from along with a sportsbook. The temporary space will feature the main game floor with a non-smoking area and high-limit space.

Dining is included within the smaller casino, with a full-service restaurant at Mr. Lucky’s, a grab-and-go option, plus a lounge and sports bar. There is also a smoking sports lounge.

Once the permanent facility is open, visitors will be invited to stay overnight, via the two hotel towers featuring quality guest spaces. The casino gaming floor will be quite large, and home to 2,700 slot machines and 100 table games.

The property will feature additional entertainment via an outdoor space with seating for 20,000 as well as an indoor venue for smaller, intimate gatherings. Restaurants, bars, and shopping areas are also included at the venue.

Loyalty Program Up and Running

Over the weekend, the Hard Rock Casino Bristol opened its loyalty program up to guests. Players started signing up for new accounts in preparation for the casino opening. The program is titled Unity and offers players a chance to earn reward points for purchases at the casino.

Points earned via the reward program can be used at several locations across the United States. Players can redeem points at the Bristol location or at other Hard Rock venues in other states. Signups are offered online via the Casino tab.

Players will earn Tier Credits with gameplay at the casino on slots and table games, plus qualifying purchases at retail outlets and dining venues. With Tier Credits, players can climb the loyalty ladder for more rewards.

The program starts with the Star level which requires 0-3,999 credits. Legend is next with 4,000-14,999 credits followed by Icon with 15,000+ credits. There is an X level as well, but it is invite-only.

The $4.1 million that The Suicide Squad made for its opening day set a new record for an R-rated film during the pandemic.

The $26.5 million for its first three days in the US is below expectations of $30 million or more, but this is no surprise. After all, the Delta variant of COVID-19 is seen by some to be a growing concern, which might have inspired people to stay home. The film, like all of WB’s 2021 movies, is also available on HBO Max. “An opening weekend below $30 million isn’t surprising, given the ongoing p…

Resident Evil 6 Review_1

With Resident Evil 6, a once-mighty series makes another stumble. From a production standpoint, this atmospheric third-person shooter (this is no survival horror game, certainly) hits a number of high notes, weaving multiple stories into a single narrative that you untangle from different perspectives. It’s unfortunate that actually interacting with Resident Evil 6 is an excruciating chore. This is a wannabe action film that resents your interference, and punishes you by forcing one horrible quick-time event after another upon you.
